The aim of the Customs Department is to seek the reliable protection of the society, market, environment and financial interests of the Republic of Lithuania and the EU in the field of international trade, the implementation of the EU Customs policy, of the common trade and of the other trade-related common Community policies.
Goals and objectives of the Lithuanian customs.
To support legitimate trade and strengthening competitiveness to ensure the correct payment of duties and taxes to fight against counterfeiting and piracy to process information, to evaluate the changes in trade nature and to perform risk assessment in order to identify financial fraud, terrorist and criminal activities, thus to contribute to the fight against other types of fraud, organised crime, drug trafficking and terrorism to protect the environment and citizens from all types of dangerous goods.
Lithuania is a member in World Customs Organisation.
