Metaphors are mainly used in spoken language and literature, but it is also possible to find them in business related newspaper/magazine articles, technical texts, reports, contracts, treaties, etc.
The subject of this study is the occurrence of metaphors in business discourse.
The problem of the paper is to determine whether metaphors are frequent in business discourse and what they mostly refer to.
The aim of the course paper is to analyse the usage and variety of metaphors in the language of business. To achieve this aim, the following objectives have been set:
1.To overview the theoretical peculiarities of metaphors;
2.To collect examples of metaphors in business context for the analysis;
3.To analyse collected examples according to distinguished notional groups.
