What segmentation variables are typically used by airlines. Segments that were used by Silverjet. Did Silverjet have strong segmentation strategy. The importance of the carbon offset charge added to the ticket price in relation to the segment served.


The assignment asks to answer four different questions that mostly relates to Siverjet company, its segmentation strategy and Silverjet competitors.

Silverjet is an aviation company launched in May 2006. The airline had begun its first year very successfully had reached its target within 7 months and was nominated as the best airline of the year. Later on companies share price started declining and in May of 2008 Silverjet had reached bankruptcy.

For the reason that majority of the customers flying for business purpose or for holidays there are two main segmentation variables typically used by airlines which is business travellers and leisure travellers.
