To be ignorant of the past is to remain a child

Anglų rašinys. To be ignorant of the past is to remain a child.

“Not to know what took place before you were born is to remain forever a child”, this is the quote by Marcus Tullius Cicero. It shows that lack of knowledge of the past can cause intolerance in present days. History, kind of by definition, happened a long time ago. Most of it, in fact, happened a long time before our adults or children were born. So neither experienced history. History is something we must learn. In our 21st century everything improves very fast. Improvements make big changes in everyone’s life. But information technologies make the biggest improvement in all categories. So we have to learn faster too.

Today we do things a lot differently than we did 100 year ago, even the smallest things have changed, and everything changes because of information technologies improvements. Now in everyone’s houses there are computers, washing machines, fridges and so on… Without all these technologies everything would be much harder. If they disappeared we would be just small kids in the corner and we wouldn’t know what to do. We without technologies today’s are just kids, who are lost in the world.
