With regard to Moodle A continuous project of development
With regard to Moodle A continuous project of development.
In first place, this project will develop what Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) consists in general. After it will be important to focus the processes and the implementation of this platform in the educational institutions. Explaining how this platform proves a continuous project of development, I will also make reference to the importance that Moodle has in encouraging technological education earlier.
To be continued, I will specify the benefits of Moodle in higher education and in particular in my university (Universidade do Porto, Portugal). To improve this central theme I will also seek the advantages that Moodle provides the communication between student/teacher. Considering this, I will review and analyse a small questionnaire made for a university colleague of mine (also a teacher) and for a cathedratic professor who teaches not only literature but also linguistic in Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. This questionnaire was prepared just for this project. To be easily explored, this project will include a comparison between the answers of the questionnaire and some important theories defended by the experts on this matter as scientific literature, as well as Internet resources.
At last, some theories will be reviewed and analysed to better safeguard the future of Moodle.
First of all, Moodle is a tool designed by Martin Dougiamas in 2001. Since then, this open source learning platform is used by educational institutions and even businesses. In fact, Martins continues working on this project every day, according to his own website (https://dougiamas.com/). This learning platform which represents a support in the area of didactics is the most widely used. Moodle is not only easy to use but also efficient. It means that anyone can adapt, extend or modify Moodle for both commercial and non-commercial projects without any licensing fees and benefit from the cost-efficiencies, flexibility and other advantages of using Moodle.
Up until now Moodle has the most advantage that one learning platform can offer: multilingual capabilities thanks to the big team of applied linguists and translators. The platform needs to recruit and integrate the best professionals to make a website with contests that must cause the same effect in the target reader. It means that these professionals must know how to recognize and respect different cultural features. This is completely imperative to guarantee quality in the final product. There are no obstacles to learn online. Anyway Moodle has been improving its skills according to the difficulties that users have been finding such as doubts in some expressions or simple words. For example, as far as languages have been studied, there is always a vivid debate on if we should try to avoid male gender or not. To help to solve this situation, Moodle created a discussion/debate whereby users can give their opinions and points of view in order to plan a strategy to start to build a successful future of Moodle and its best quality, the effectiveness.
Moodle was based on the philosophy that the knowledge rises like an osmosis, as a result of a continuous interaction.
