The objective of the course paper is to produce a clear and understandable information on this linguistic phenomenon and to systematize the theory.

The tasks of the paper are:

1)To present the classification of metaphors.

2)To find out which types of metaphors are usually used in analysed jounalistic text

3)To distribute themes of metaphors according to the types of contexts.
