Conditional types


Conditional types. Type 1 refers real present or near future situation. Using others connecting. Type 2 refers unreal present or future situation. Type 3 refers unreal situation in the past. Wish. Wish + another subject + would. If only is more stronger then wish.


Type 1 refers real present or near future situation.

(šalutinis sąlygos sakinys) , (pagrindinis sakinys) If + Present (Simple) , Future (Simple) e.g. If I go to a shop, I will buy an ice-cream. When I finish school, I will work as a driver. What’s the difference between if and when?

Unless( if not), in case, provided/ providing, as long as e.g. 1. He can’t hear you unless you shout. 2. I don’t want to go out unless John phones. 3. You can take my iPOD as long as you won’t break it. 4. I’ll pick you up providing/provided that I finish work before three o’clock.

Type 2 refers unreal present or future situation.
