Divine command ethics

Divine command ethics.

Devine command theory, that is also called theological voluntarism, goes by the bumper sticker “God said it, I believe it, that settles it.” This belief states that we get all of our moral truths from Gods commands. God creates all things other than himself, therefore God creates whats is right and wrong

When we think about God in Christianity we think about God that is infinite, all knowing and unlimited creator. However in that case since we are the creation we are finite, limited and living just because of Gods will.

Since God is perfect in his goodness we are not. Actually we are no where close to moral perfections. Humans are guilty of sins that they do every day.

Another thing is human intellect. According to divine command ethics it would be arrogant to think that humans that are limited in their abilities could comprehend God and his ways.
