Formal Informal

Formal Informal.

We all have written some kind of texts in life. When it comes to english, we have to choose not only the type of text or essay, which can be opinion, descriptive, compare and contrast and so on, but also we have to choose the style of our text and two mainly styles are formal and informal. The main differences between them are the way we pick the words to say what we have to say. The way we write in academic and scientific settings contrasts highly from the way we write to a friend or close one. The vocabulary and syntax, all change as the occasion changes. This is the difference between formality and informality, or the difference between formal and informal writing.

As I mentioned before, the way we write depends on what for you are writing. If you write to a close friend, sibling, or if it is just a casual occasion and you do not have any settings or requirements for writing, you can not be afraid of adding conversational talk. Informal writing takes on that kind of characteristics.
