Inheritance. Inheritance under the testament. Conditions of testament formation. Invalidity of a testament or parts of it.

Inheritance (in Lithuanian language that means – paveldėjimas). This is not the only translation, “paveldėjimas” can be translated as inheritance, succession or heredity. I chose the most common term – inheritance. All information that I used for preparing this presentation is from our (Lithuanian) Civil Code, so I will represent inheritance only in our national borders.

Inheritance means dead person's (decendent’s) property rights, duties, and some other personal rights passage to his successors according to the law, or (and) successors under the testament. As we can see there are two terms that we should know here: a decendent – palikėjas, testatorius; and successor – įpėdinis, paveldėtojas.
